Cherish Your Blessings
In April 1992, Master Cheng Yen proposed to the Provincial Commissioner's Association the concept: "Excess or inappropriate use of resources is the same as ruining our blessings." She hopes that the entire Tzu Chi organization will learn to cherish the life span of all things, and she appeals to all to intensify their efforts in resource recycling and environmental preservation.
Master Cheng Yen hopes that all Tzu Chi members can appreciate, cherish and cultivate blessings. They should also keep in mind: "By enduring adversity you will eliminate adversity-when adversity has passed then good fortune will follow; by dwelling in good fortune you will use up good fortune-once your good fortune has passed then adversity will follow."
